Meet CaMia Jackson
Your Future First Lady

CaMia Jackson is a powerhouse of service, leadership, and expertise, dedicated to empowering communities and creating a brighter future for all. A native of Albany, Georgia, her life's work is a testament to her unwavering commitment to public service and community uplift.
CaMia's journey is a compelling blend of corporate prowess and public service. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Albany State University, she forged a highly successful 20-year career in IT management. Today, she continues her professional career by managing multi-million dollar projects for Fortune 50 companies as a corporate IT Consultant for industry giants like AT&T, Bank of America, Microsoft, and the Department of Defense. This formidable background in strategic management and large-scale operations is the very foundation of her leadership today.
In 2018, CaMia brought her unique skill set to the Georgia General Assembly, serving as the State Representative for House District 153. She quickly proved her mettle during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. When her community was hit hardest, she took decisive, hands-on action to ensure 16,000 children in the Dougherty County School District received meals. This tireless effort earned her the 2019 RICE Awards Civil Servant of the Year Award and cemented her reputation as a compassionate and effective leader who acts with purpose.
This distinctive background is precisely what makes CaMia Jackson uniquely prepared to be a dynamic and effective First Lady of Georgia. Her time as a Georgia state legislator has given her an unparalleled, firsthand understanding of how the state's government operates. She isn't just a political spouse; she is a seasoned public servant who has already navigated the legislative process, forged critical relationships with stakeholders, and directly championed the needs of constituents. This means she wouldn't need to "learn on the job." Instead, she could immediately leverage her expertise to champion critical initiatives and support her husband's administration from day one. Her firsthand knowledge of the everyday struggles Georgians face—from food insecurity to educational disparities—would enable her to be a powerful, empathetic advocate, ensuring that the First Lady's office is an engine for meaningful, positive change across the state.
CaMia's commitment extends beyond her official roles. She is a driving force in community engagement, mentoring young people in STEM/STEAM fields, and championing voter rights through her work with Georgia WIN List and the League of Women Voters of Georgia. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and an active member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Together with her husband, State Representative Derrick Jackson, they have built a loving family of seven young adults and are proud grandparents. CaMia Jackson’s life is a testament to the power of service, leadership, and an unshakeable commitment to community.
